Testimonial:

Thank you for illuminating the light of Yoga onto our 20 willing Yogis. We love you! The course was well thought out, graciously executed and lovingly provided. My practice is far more stable, connected and invigorating. Thank you for sharing the Himalayan tradition with me. It’s a pleasure and an honor.

2008 Graduate - Kyra, US

Substantial emphasis is placed on analytic training on how to teach and practice the techniques as well as guided practice of the techniques. In conjunction, you will learn the Patanjali’s Eight Limbs yoga philosophy and how you can incorporate this into your own practice and day to day life.

The Curriculum takes you through the essential elements you will require to deepen and enrich your own yoga practice and to teach students with confidence.

As director of Himalaya Yoga Valley and senior course instructor, Lalit is of the Himalayan Tradition; the tradition of the Swamis and the great Swami Rama, Founder of the Himalayan Institute of Yoga & Philosophy Sciences; followed by Swami Veda Bhami, known as the great yogi. Lalit, as a traditional yogi, was initiated by Swami Veda.

The Himalaya Yoga Valley teachers come from a rich variety of backgrounds and lineages; during the 200 hour course the teachers will use the primary Ashtanga series and sequences as a consistent and solid foundation from which students can develop their individual teaching style.

The fundamental sequencing and mode of asana practice during the course is Ashtanga with a holistic emphasis on learning by also incorporating traditions and styles of yoga such as Iyengar, Hatha, Raja and Vinyasa Flow.

Testimonial:

Thank you so much Lalit for giving me such a special opportunity. You were always so concerned about me! You were so sincere and always kept us smiling. I am honored to practice under you.

2008 Graduate Reiko.

A training manual will be provided to support your lectures, practice and personal yoga development. To assist your yoga journey and emergence of your personal discoveries, students are encouraged to maintain a reflective journal for the duration of the Teacher Training. Competency for graduation as a yoga teacher will be assessed on class participation, written assessments and on -going observations during classes by our senior teachers.

For both beginner and seasoned practitioners this course will deepen and consolidate your practice and teaching style. We encourage aspiring teachers from all backgrounds, with all levels of experience to join the course. This fosters a dynamic environment reflective of that which will be in your future classroom setting. Individuality during the course is nurtured and encouraged, inspiring our future teachers to impart that sensitivity towards different student’s levels of yoga ability in the future and to respect the personal journey that is yoga.

Pre – requisites to enroll in the Teacher Training Course are; an open mind, commitment to learning, and motivation to become a worthy yoga teacher. A high level of self-discipline is required during the course as it is physically, mentally and spiritually demanding and also highly rewarding! If you are only joining the course to obtain a Certificate or to interrupt the momentum of the group because you are not ready to step outside your comfort zone then this course is not for you.

We encourage students to enroll for the course when they are fully ready on a holistic level and committed to meeting the challenges of the course and accepting the joys with an open heart. These are important attributes that will add to your learning experience during the course and also to the learning experience of your fellow students. Himalaya Yoga Valley has a wide range of support programs in place for our students during the intensive period.
