Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre (RYS
200) Teacher Training Course is an internationally accredited program
with Yoga Alliance USA, Yoga Alliance UK, Yoga Alliance international
and the International Yoga Federation. Graduates who successfully
complete the program are eligible to become RYT’s ® (Registered
Yoga Teachers). Our Teacher Training Course delivers a comprehensive,
theoretical and practical hands on training program that includes
Asanas, Pranayama, Kriyas, anatomy, Ayurveda, adjusting, sequencing,
mantra chanting, meditation and other traditional and contemporary
Yoga techniques.

Our training blends traditional Eastern teachings
by Indian Masters of Yoga, Philosophy and Ayurveda combined with
teachings from highly experienced and dynamic Western teachers.
This marriage of backgrounds gives our students the opportunity
to learn in an authentic Yoga setting whilst gaining the skills
required to impart these teachings practically and relevantly in
a global yoga environment.

Substantial emphasis is placed on analytic training on how to teach
and practice these techniques as well as guided practice of the
techniques. In conjunction, you will learn Patanjali’s Eight
Limb yoga philosophy and how you can incorporate this into your
own practice and day-to-day life. Daily chanting, meditation and
pranayama provide spiritual structure and compliment the more physical
practices of the curriculum.

The Curriculum takes you through the essential elements required
to deepen and enrich your own yoga practice and to teach students
with confidence. Our expert team of teachers will guide you from
the fundamental stages to teaching with ease.

As director of Himalaya Yoga Valley and senior course instructor,
Lalit is of the Himalayan Tradition; the tradition of the Swamis
and the great Swami Rama, Founder of the Himalayan Institute of
Yoga & Philosophy Sciences; followed by Swami Veda Bharthi,
known as the great yogi. Lalit was initiated by Swami Veda Bharthi.
Lalit has an approachable and down to earth teaching style and is
passionate about passing on his traditional knowledge to students
from around the world.

Himalaya Yoga Valley Teachers come
from a rich variety of backgrounds and lineages; Our teachers use
a modified primary Ashtanga series as a consistent and solid foundation
from which students can develop their individual teaching style.
With his background as an Iyengar student Lalit places strong emphasis
on correcting alignment and maintaining integrity in asana as a
both a trainee and teacher. During the course you will have the
opportunity to apply these alignment techniques to your own practice
and as a teacher. One of the most rewarding and popular aspects
of our trainings is the focus placed on learning adjustments under
the guidance of senior teachers. These adjustments are practiced
throughout the training and benefit our graduate teachers greatly
when they begin to teach back home.

The fundamental sequencing and mode of asana practice during the
course is Ashtanga Flow. Students work from the Ashtanga modified
primary series in order to develop confidence through an in depth
knowledge of a specific set of postures. Trainees us this series
as a solid platform to teach from and to develop their own unique
styles utilizing the various traditions and techniques taught during
the training. Our training has a holistic emphasis on learning by
also incorporating other traditions and styles of yoga such as Iyengar,
Hatha, Raja and Vinyasa Flow. Trainees are encouraged to bring their
individual styles to the primary series. A training manual will
be provided to support your lectures, practice and personal yoga
development.

Our post course graduate teaching rate is extremely high due to
our unique outcome based, progressive learning approach. Trainees
start to teach under supervision from the start of week two. Trainees
teach in a safe and supervised environment at this early stage so
as to develop full confidence during the month and to find their
teaching voice early on and to graduate at the highest standard
possible having developed both their own practice and the in depth
knowledge to teach at a professional level. To assist your yoga
journey and emergence of your personal discoveries, students are
encouraged to maintain a reflective journal for the duration of
the Teacher Training. Competency for graduation as a yoga teacher
will be assessed on class participation, written assessments and
on -going observations during classes by our senior teachers.

For both beginner and seasoned practitioners this course will deepen
and consolidate your practice and teaching style. We encourage aspiring
teachers from all backgrounds, with all levels of experience to
join the course. This fosters a dynamic environment reflective of
that which will be in your future classroom setting.
