These
teacher trainings offers a comprehensive and practical training
aiming too deepen your understanding and awaken your inner teacher
as your main source of inspiration and guide to your own yoga practice
or to teaching students.
We (the course instructors) are quite progressive and come from
various lineages of yoga and therefore a fusion of different styles
(Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha Yoga, Iyenger, Dynamic Yoga, and Kundalini
Yoga) may be apparent in the course. However, the main teachings
are derived from patanjalis eightfold system of Ashtanga yoga which
offers a comprehensive study, guide and exploration of the true
self.
Goa Teacher Training Jan 2008 at Himalaya
Yoga Valley Mandrem

For the most part the basic sequencing and style of the asana practice
will be that of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga as devised by Prathabis jois.
However to honor our individual abilities and limitations there
will be some variations to the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa routine.
Ultimately we hope to facilitate a space whereby each person can
appreciate and nurture their own individuality and as such, we hope
that all trainees will develop a method whereby their practice reflects
how and what they are feeling in each and every moment, thereby
the sequencing of your own self practice or teaching to a group
will gradually become more spontaneous and explorative.
Each student will receive a training manual to be used throughout
the course, and be given a workbook to document personal discoveries,
studies and thoughts which should be handed in for assessment at
the end of the course. All trainees who successfully complete the
course to the required standard will receive their certificate at
the end of the training at the closing ceremony.
For both beginners and more experienced students this course offers
the chance to advance ones understanding of yoga as a tool of self
discovery and development regardless of ones previous experience
in yoga. Therefore there is no pre-requisite to attend this course
although we ask that you come with a beginners mind so that the
usual ideas, judgments, habits etc do not interrupt the learning
process.
For those who have a passion to become a teacher this course will
be a foundation to build confidence and provide a practice arena
to access your inner guru which will allow you to teach clearly
and precisely from your own experience.
